Statement from ABOR Chair Mata on appointment of new board members

Below is a statement from ×îÐÂÂ鶹Ãâ·Ñ¿´ Chair Cecilia Mata on Governor Katie Hobbs' appointment of two new regents.

“On behalf of the ×îÐÂÂ鶹Ãâ·Ñ¿´, I extend our appreciation to Governor Hobbs for her discerning appointment of Ms. Liz Archuleta, a distinguished and esteemed leader, to serve on the board. Ms. Archuleta's extensive history of leadership both within our state and nationally, particularly in areas such as early childhood education, justice reform, and health and human services, underscores her profound commitment to public service. Her breadth of experience, including her strong partnerships with rural and tribal communities, will no doubt enrich the board’s work. I eagerly anticipate collaborating with her and gaining insights from her unique perspective.

“We are also honored to welcome Jadyn Fisher, a Northern ×îÐÂÂ鶹Ãâ·Ñ¿´University student who will serve a two-year term as a Student Regent on the board. Ms. Fisher has played an active role in her community and is in the Honors College at NAU.

“I offer a warm and personal welcome to Ms. Archuleta and Ms. Fisher coupled with my gratitude for their willingness to embrace this pivotal role on the board. I also extend heartfelt appreciation from the entire board to Regent Lyndel Manson and Student Regent Katelyn Rees — whose terms are ending — for their unwavering dedication, commitment, and advocacy for higher education."
